I try to protect my video and streaming output from copyright violations. Under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, multiple copyright violations – such as the unauthorized use of licensed music – can get your account permanently banned. As much as I love Ariana Grande, I know that major record labels that house top artists like her are scanning the internet non-stop and issuing DMCA strikes to everyone who dares to broadcast their music. Because of this, I use DMCA-safe music such as StreamBeats to help set the mood for my streams without putting my accounts at risk.
However, you can be subject to copyright claims, audio muting, and DMCA strikes for more than just the music you play outside of the game. In-game music can get you in trouble too. Was most recently reminded of this thanks to Rogue Company.

The HyperX Cloud Alpha S is a wired gaming headset intended for use on PC. When plugged in via USB, you can use the headset controller to adjust the volume, audio mix, and even toggle its simulated 7.1 surround sound. Though its functionality on other platforms is limited, you can listen to game audio and voice chat with your friends on modern consoles or anything with a 3.5mm jack. Though Hi-Rez Studios has been around for decades, they didn’t really grab my attention until I tried Paladins on the Nintendo Switch. During a time when Blizzard’s hero shooter wasn’t on the platform, Paladins served as a solid free-to-play alternative. Even now, some may choose to play Paladins over Overwatch on Switch due to the former running at a butter 60 frames per second while the latter can struggle maintaining 30.
The studio’s latest free-to-play game is Rogue Company. This time, it’s a team-based third-person shooter where dueling mercenary groups attempt to complete their objects. Does it do enough to stand out in a saturated shooter market?
