Though I only saw Abigail as the girl who eats flowers, I saw a new side of her that makes me think I should reconsider my life choices. We also make quite a bit of progress digging towards the bottom of the Stardew Valley mines. I have a soft spot in my heart for Atari games. My earliest gaming memories are of me as a toddler, playing Defender on a hand-me-down Atari 2600. Though it wouldn’t be long before Nintendo took a firm grip of my soul, my nostalgia for that console and its games never let go.
A few days ago, I bought the Atari Flashback Classics collection on the Nintendo Switch. Containing 150 titles released in the arcade, Atari 2600, and Atari 5200, I got it for on sale for a measly $25 CAD (roughly $20 USD). Granted, it’s far from a definitive collection when it comes to selection, but to get ports of so many foundational games of the medium’s history for dirt cheap feels…unsettling.
This reality though isn’t that surprising. While old Nintendo consoles and games are highly sought after and sell for high prices, Atari’s products haven’t retained their value in the same way. If anything, it’s only getting worse as time goes on.

Powered by gorgeous visuals in-game and within cutscenes, Indivisible makes one heck of a first impression. And yet, I was almost completely repulsed by it for reasons beyond its control.
I know Haley and I don’t always see eye-to-eye when it comes to our romance. But I didn’t think we were that far apart! It’s…going to take me some time to heal. We end up spending a lot of time in the mines as a means of coping with the stress of a love unrequited. At the end, I unveil some of my tentative plans for a new streaming PC!

Headlined by the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, and Switch, the 8th generation of consoles has been a weird one for me. Coming off the previous generation where I spent more money and invested more time into gaming than ever, this one did not come close to capturing my imagination in the same way. That said, there were a few bright spots that should continue to shine going into the new wave.
With the sun setting on the 8th generation of consoles, here are the events that shaped my experience with it.
From its run-and-gun power fantasy action, to being the most important use of the Konami Code ever, Contra on the NES is one of the most iconic games of its time. Everyone in my circle knew and loved it, and I would discover years later through the internet that the game struck a chord with much of the gaming populace around the world. Decades later, that game holds up incredibly well relative to the modern action games of today.
While the series would carry on for many years after that NES release, none of the franchises subsequent releases came even close to capturing the worldwide frenzy of the original. Super C was the first of those subsequent releases that fell short of its predecessor’s success. However, it didn’t fall short because it was a bad game.
Coming to grips with my past romantic failures in Stardew Valley, I lay it all on the line for Haley right off the bat. When I wasn’t putting on the moves, I dove deep into the mines for rare minerals. Throughout the stream, we also touch on the subject of long distance relationships, rough working conditions, and a trio of random games make it into show & tell!
