Growing on Twitch is hard, but these videos might steer you in the right direction!

Establishing a presence on Twitch is one of the most daunting challenges I’ve ever faced as a content creator. If you’ve tried your hand at streaming, you too may know the hardships that come with standing out in a sea of other streamers.

I don’t have all the answers, and admittedly, I was largely rambling about streaming stuff while playing Overwatch. However, I do go over a number of challenges that aspiring streamers face and ways of growing your platform! Check out these videos for my insights!

Ranking 5 Indie Fighting Games on the Nintendo Switch from Worst-to-Best

In this silver age of fighting games, independent developers have been able to find their footing in the scene. From the silly Divekick to the visually-stunning and mechanically-deep Skullgirls, these games have received critical acclaim, sold well, and established their own communities. They may not have the name recognition as some of the AAA titans in the genre, but a number of indie fighters have proven to be worthy alternatives.

So far, I’ve sampled five indie fighters on the Nintendo Switch. Here’s how I rank them from worst-to-best!

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX Demo Impressions

Pokemon spin-off games may not have the prestige of the mainline series, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be good or successful in their own right. Pokemon Go hit supernova levels of popularity at launch and is still one of the biggest games in the world in terms of player base and revenue. Matter of fact, chasing Pokemon in the real world is what truly brought me into the fandom.

Though I’ve completely missed the window on the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series, it seems like the series has done well for itself. Over 13 million copies sold before the release of Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon is nothing to sneeze at. With a remake of the original on the way for the Nintendo Switch and a demo available now on the eShop, I take a stroll through Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX.

Blue Yeti Nano Review

Does the old adage, “Good things come in small packages” hold true for the Blue Yeti Nano? This mini reboot of the wildly-popular original attempts to retain the overall sound quality of the original in a smaller package while removing a few features specifically designed for recording singing vocals or musical instruments. Blue’s hope is that the Nano will be your go-to mic for voice recording, podcasting, or streaming. Having bought one for myself, I put it through its paces.

Pokemon Sword and Shield Review

Worst Pokemon game ever?

No entry in the Pokemon series has caught heat quite like Pokemon Sword and Shield. When word got out that this title would buck the trend of supporting every Pokemon, the news disappointed many and sent a vocal minority into a tizzy. The drama hit a fever pitch around the launch of the game, as the outcry over everything cut from the game sat diametrically opposed to the generally positive reviews from the press. With so much conflicting information going around, who could you trust?

Ultimately, I decided to trust in myself by going through with my purchase of Pokemon Sword. Good or bad, at least I would know for sure where I stood on the discussion. I hope you get the chance to play the game and come to your own conclusions as well.

Did You Miss These Hidden Gems on the Nintendo eShop?

With so many amazing games on the Nintendo eShop, it’s easy for titles to get buried. Especially indies! I take a moment to showcase four amazing Nintendo Switch games on the eShop that you might have missed!

While this technically isn’t my first foray into YouTube content, I’m approaching the challenge with a lot more knowledge and somewhat better equipment. Hoping to establish a steady pipeline of non-streaming video content in 2020! Enjoy!

Shut Up and Make Stuff: Overcoming Failure and Anxiety in Order to Create Freely

The In Third Person YouTube channel has been around for almost a decade. In that time, I’ve uploaded almost 1,000 videos. Some of my videos have been viewed thousands of times. There are a few pieces of content on there that I’m really proud of. Even so, I look at my overall effort there as my biggest failure as a creator.

There are numerous reasons for me being unhappy with it in its current state. I’ve spent years in my own head analyzing my mistakes and beating myself up for letting things get to this point. I’ve learned a lot based on my own experiences and through external sources on what it takes. Now isn’t the time to sit back and reflect anymore. It’s time to work.
