During the process of uploading my latest Link’s Awakening live stream to YouTube, I saw the Copyright Claim flag under one of my my Tetris 99 videos. Confused, I clicked to see who had filed the claim and on what grounds. What I saw made me very upset.

Gaming Decor Patch Notes: October 2019 Edition
The month of Halloween is here and…I’ve done nothing festive with my backdrop. Missed opportunity? Perhaps. Nevertheless, it’s time to run through a few new editions to the gaming room!
10 Years of In Third Person: Some of My Favourite Posts
Having created almost 3,000 posts (!) in the last decade, there’s probably way more content here that I’ve forgotten than I’ve remembered. Though I highly recommend going back to the very beginning and reading everything in chronological order, you could also use this handy list of a few of my favourites!
Navigating the World of Streaming Advice
Being a streamer can be a really demanding hobby. If you have aspirations of honing your craft and building an audience, it requires you to be a content creator, video producer, audio technician, on-camera personality, graphic designer, social media manager, and more. Actually playing games is but a small – though still notable – part of the process.
Personally, I wasn’t born with all of the skills required to be a natural. It’s taken so much work just to get to where I am now, which is still a ways away from where I want to go. If anything, the amount of stuff I’m trying to improve on is longer and more specific now than it was then.
With so many questions in need of answering, I usually turn to the internet. However, not all information online is created equal. There are times when I have questions so specific that I can’t find any pre-existing answers online. At least one piece of advice borked my computer bad enough that I had to run a system restore to reverse the damage. Have also started to see questionable sources charging exorbitant amounts of money for streaming advice that’s sub-par or a downright scam. How does one find the the answers they need in the “Wild West” era of streaming knowledge?
Adventures into Spray Paint Art: Much to Learn

Attempting spray paint art for the first time unlocked a sense of unbridled freedom from within. Coming from a place where my expectations were non-existent and I was partaking in this activity strictly for fun, I had a great time just making what felt good in the moment. That early win was enough to inspire another go around, but it also created a new level of expectations that changed the vibe around this latest session.
Our Extra Life 2019 Campaign Begins Today!
Last year, we raised an incredible $800 for the Children’s Miracle Network as part of Extra Life. This year, we’re aiming even higher! Our Extra Life 2019 campaign officially begins today and we hope you can help us raise $1,000 in support of the Children’s Miracle Network of Hospitals. Leading up to the big marathon on November 2nd, there will be a lot of Extra Life related stuff going on.
Streaming and The Journey vs. The Destination
A while back, I was perusing r/twitch on Reddit when I stumbled on a thread from a user who was struggling to rebuild the audience he once had after taking an eight-month hiatus. At the time, the thread only had one response, but it strongly resonated with me while summarizing the biggest lesson I’ve learned as a streamer.
Getting the Band Back Together for Rock Band 4

A while back, I got a message out of the blue from my cousin Kyle.
“Can I borrow your Rock Band stuff?”
My Favourite Nintendo 3DS Games

Confession: I don’t like the Nintendo 3DS. Heck, I’d go as far as saying I never liked the Nintendo 3DS. Hot off the heels of the phenomenal DS Lite, it failed to capture my interest like its predecessor due to a 3D gimmick that proved pointless and a software library that was sorely underwhelming. Even before the release of the Nintendo Switch, I had largely abandoned the platform.
While Nintendo may say that the Nintendo 3DS will carry on in spite of the upcoming release of the Nintendo Switch Lite, I think that now is a great time for me to close my book on this era of handheld gaming. I may not have liked the hardware or the catalogue as a whole, but there were some incredible games that blessed the Nintendo 3DS with their presence. In no particular order, here are my favourite Nintendo 3DS games!
Amiibo Figures and Video Game Object Photography

Years ago, I wrote a piece about my Sheik Amiibo. As part of that post, I hastily took a picture of Sheik and Zelda standing together. Not thinking much about the artistic merits of the shot itself, they were placed on top of a fighstick with a picture of Spider-Man and I in the background.
Years later, while mining my archives for content to post on the In Third Person Instagram account, I found that picture. I showed it to my wife and asked her, “Hey, what if I post this picture with the caption, ‘Two sides to every story’?”. She replied, “Can you bring those Amiibos to me?”
