I’m Back! (Sort of)

Hey everyone!

It’s been a crazy few weeks for Steff and I with the move. With that said, I’m glad to report that we’ve successfully moved all of our stuff into the new place.

Though the hard part is out of the way, there’s definitely still work to be done. It’s probably going to take us a few weeks before we’re fully functioning.

As for the blog, I’ll do the best I can to keep things going. Realistically, there’s a lot of work to be done at home for the next little while, and I don’t have a stable enough internet connection here yet for any online gaming, so there may be a dip in content frequency. I’ll do my best to keep this going for you 🙂

Anywho, I am off for now. Stay tuned for more gaming posts in the future!

Out Now: Mass Effect 3 and Street Fighter X Tekken

While I can’t speak for everyone, this very well could be my biggest new release week of the year. My two most anticipated games of 2012 are out now, and I’ll probably be making a bee line to the store before work to grab copies of both.

WrestleFest for iPhone Review

The original WrestleFest is renown as an old school wrestling and arcade classic. I used to remember seeing this game at arcades everywhere. A lot of people have fond memories of the original (including yours truly), which immediately flooded back when I found out that WrestleFest was out on iOS.

Turns out, this is not the WrestleFest of yesteryear, though it tries really hard to replicate the original experience with some modern touches. Are you ready to take it to the mat with a new version of WrestleFest?

Off-Topic: On The Move

Today’s our big day! Steff and I will be moving into our new place. These next few days will be quite hectic, as we’ll be going through the process of setting everything up (including internet access). The amount of time I can spend on In Third Person for the time being could be compressed, but fret not. I have some posts scheduled to go for the time being, and I’m hoping to at least get back into the swing of things to talk about my two most anticipated games of the year: Mass Effect 3 and Street Fighter X Tekken, both of which are out on the same day.

Till then, I’ll get back to packing the moving truck. See you all soon!

Coming Soon: Mass Effect 3

To label myself as “excited” for Mass Effect 3 would be an understatement. Anything less than “giddy like a little school girl” would be selling my excitement short. Mass Effect 3 is my most anticipated game of 2012 and it’s coming out in just a few days.

Jett vs. CK0 Phantom, a Top 10 Dhalsim in Super Street Fighter IV: AE 2012

On today’s edition of Jett vs., I face off against some lofty competition. CK0 Phantom at the time we fought, was the #7 ranked Dhalsim on XBOX Live. Going into the match, I was really nervous, as I was facing someone a few levels above me, and someone who had their mic plugged in and was freely cursing back at me. Hearing the person on the other side always puts me on edge, and sometimes it rattles me to the point where I play worse. Was I able to overcome my nerves to win?

Eyes-On – Rhythm Heaven Fever

I’ve got a fever, and the only prescription is more…Rhythm Heaven? To my surprise, the Rhythm Heaven franchise is back on North American shores; this time on the Wii. While the DS original was wildly popular in Japan, the game’s inherent craziness in a way that only Japan can provide pretty much sealed its fate as a cult hit at best everywhere else in the world.

My brother, who was a huge fan of the original, recently picked up a copy of Rhythm Heaven Fever. I took some time out to watch him play. Did watching the game win me over like it won my brother over? Or did I find it as culturally inpenetrable as the Mr. Sparkle commercial?

Off-Topic: Silence of the Jett

My voice used to play a much larger role in my life and my livelihood. In my first college tenure, I trained to become a radio announcer. After graduating, I got a job as a part-time radio announcer for a country radio station, handling the overnight shift and weekend weather reports. When that fell through, I took matters into my own hands, and started a podcast with my former radio broadcasting classmate, which was successful in its own right. Off the strength of word-of-mouth, we peaked at over 1,000 subscribers. Whether I was being paid to do it, or doing it for fun, I loved being a public personality.

Then one day, it all disappeared, and I haven’t said anything on a public medium in years. What happened?

Off-Topic: Adventures in Apartment Hunting Part 3

After almost a year of discussion, months of going through hundreds of apartment listings and weeks of taking appointments, Steff and I felt like we might have found the one. Despite how in love we were with that place, and how actively we were communicating with our point of contact to get more information about the place, we wanted to check out at least one more place as a gut check.

However, someone else was in the running for our potential dream condo, and we were being pressed to make a decision fast. Would this one last appointment make the difference? Would it screw us out of the one we had our hearts set on by taking too long to respond? Click through to find out!

Check Out the In Third Person Store!

First off, thank you to those who have already supported In Third Person by purchasing items from the In Third Person store. Truly appreciated.

If you haven’t checked it out, or haven’t checked it out in a while, this is a friendly reminder that the In Third Person store is a great place to purchase games from. Why? It’s great because it’s powered by Amazon.com, which means you’re dealing with a trusted retailer with probably the largest supply of video games by any online retailer. If you don’t see the game your looking for in one of the categories, simply use the search bar. It’s also great because your purchases support me and the site.

So what are you waiting for? Check out the In Third Person store and see if there’s anything you want to purchase or pre-order.
