When I left Street Fighter V behind, I was an Ultra Platinum ranked player. While not the highest possible rank one can attain, it’s one of the higher ranks in the game. Based on the distribution of players as of last year, that would have put me within the top 2.5% of all players. Not too shabby!
After taking a multi-year hiatus, I’m kind of back. Been putting in some time with the PC version and really enjoying what the game has finally grown into. However, one particular aspect of the experience is driving me nuts: my struggle to regain my old ranking.
Having played Rogue Company on console for many months now, I think I’m finally ready to compete on PC! I talk through some of my reasoning for moving to PC and some of the struggles I’ve run into along the way. Also, we get in a few matches with Kestral and Dima!

From MOBAs, to shooters, to battle royales, Hi-Rez Studios makes games in some of the most popular and crowded genres out there. Even though they’re a much smaller studio compared to their monolithic rivals like Tencent and Blizzard, they’ve managed to find a way to punch above their weight.
They’ve also won me over as a fan of their work.

For most of my life, I have actively avoided PC gaming. I was scarred by bad experiences in the early 90s such as that time when my underpowered 386 couldn’t run Doom at all. Furthermore, I didn’t have the resources to spend thousands on a rig capable of playing modern games.
I’m only in a position now where I can play on PC by virtue of my streaming hobby. Sorely in need of a PC capable of handling my streaming and video editing needs, it just so happens that a video production PC can double as a solid gaming PC.
A few months into my PC journey, here’s how things are going thus far.
During the last Guilty Gear -Strive- beta, I flagged a number of major complaints with the game’s online experience.
This time around, things are…different.
Time for our community to get paid! I plan on giving away a Twitch sub at the end of the stream, but will give away a total of three if Switch to Decaf, PlayerTwoStart, MacGyverisms, and I win more matches than we lose. Are we able to secure the bag for our community?

Years after leaving Street Fighter V behind, I recently began my journey anew. This time, with a clear mind, no pressure to perform, and with a new account on PC with zero ranking points.
Though I still have a lot of rust to shake off, I didn’t exactly return to the scene as a white-belt warrior. In about a day’s worth of work, I jumped from 0 BP to about 4,500; good enough to get me into Gold rank. Based on the way that players are distributed across the rankings, I leapfrogged roughly 88% of the player base.
After a few rough Rogue Company streams, the Dubs All Day crew returns with a vengeance! We put the world on notice with way more wins than last time! Between the wins, we talk about poggers Twitch slang, major updates coming soon to Rogue Company, and we christen a new name for the In Third Person community! From this day forth, you’re all part of the Jettpack!
