Back in 2010 when I started the YouTube channel for In Third Person, Twitch didn’t exist, and the concept of game streaming was still in its infancy. I figured that someday, when I finally got the equipment to do it properly, I would make video game related content for YouTube. Years have passed, the world of streaming is born, and now I have more to think about.

Jaipur was a game that entered my radar very early on in my board gaming journey. However, time-and-time again I’d pass on it. In a classic case of judging a book by its cover, it was a game that didn’t appeal to me due to it being a game about merchants selling goods, which is a theme that failed to pique my interest. Years after the fact, I finally gave the game a chance to see what the hype was all about.
On this day in 2008, I published the first post on In Third Person. Nine years, over 2,200 posts, and over 400,000 pageviews later, In Third Person is still here. This has always been a passion project of mine and it’s comforting to know that others come to this site every day for my random musings on video games, board games, and other nerdy pursuits. Thank you to everyone that has read a post, followed the blog, subscribed to one of my video channels, or shown your support in any other way. Your support is truly appreciated.
In Third Person will continue to carry on as long as making content continues to be fun and something I can find the time for. Of late, I’ve been working diligently on improving the video content, which I think has improved by leaps and bounds over the last six months or so. It will only get better from here!
And of course, I’ll continue to write. It’s the backbone of the In Third Person experience and it’s still a joy to sit down in front of the computer and articulate my thoughts with just the right combination of words and pictures.

Time flies when you’re having fun saving the world from four deadly diseases! It’s been 10 years since Pandemic revolutionized board games forever by popularizing co-op play, and after many spin-offs and expansions, its back in a tricked-out 10th anniversary edition.
Inspired by Potugese ceramic tiles, Azul is an abstract strategy game in which players create decorative walls in order to gain the most points. As someone who can take issue with some of the more banal themes behind European-style board games, just hearing the concept for this one made my eyes roll into the back of my head. After having played a few times, the theme still doesn’t excite me at all, but the game sure is fun to play.
I love Street Fighter! I love board games! Street Fighter: The Miniatures Game is my dream come true!
Designed by YouTuber Angry Joe and published by Jasco Games, it features gorgeous miniatures, multiple stages, and 40-card decks for each character. I want to believe that this is everything I’ve been dreaming of, but there is still much for me to consider. As it usually goes with Kickstarter board games, particularly ones that feature miniatures, the entry price is steep, scaling exponentially higher if you want stretch goals and the expansion characters. On top of that, I want to read the manual and watch the how-to-play videos to see if this could meet my particular expectations.
