At the end of September, Twitch unveiled a host of new features coming to the platform in the coming year. There’s a lot of exciting stuff for viewers and creators to enjoy! This post won’t cover all of the announcements, but I wanted to cover the things that I found the most interesting. Let’s go!
Over 25 years after its original release on the Game Boy, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening was given a fresh coat of paint on the Nintendo Switch. Thanks to the benefits of modern graphics and user-experience improvements, this stellar game received a well-deserved second wind.
While Link’s Awakening is the most dramatic glow-up for a Zelda game yet, Nintendo has already polished up a number of franchises previous entries. So far, we’ve received remasters of Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess. Here are a few more that I think are deserving of a remake or remaster!
For the past year or so, I’ve carried a bit of BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle guilt. When it first came out, I was enamored by its measured approach to anime-style tag-team combat. The mechanics give players a lot of room for creativity while also being more accessible than your average anime fighter. In an alternate reality, this game wouldn’t have fallen out of my rotation and I would have competed in a few tournaments by now.
That’s not what happened.
During the process of uploading my latest Link’s Awakening live stream to YouTube, I saw the Copyright Claim flag under one of my my Tetris 99 videos. Confused, I clicked to see who had filed the claim and on what grounds. What I saw made me very upset.
Where’d the start of the dungeon go? After rage quitting the stream, I come back and finish off the next two dungeons in our Link’s Awakening adventure! Along the way, we talk about Heavy Rain and the rise of modern adventure games, Overwatch on Switch, the developers of the Mario and Luigi series going bankrupt, and more!
