Whoops! A colossal error leads to one of my worst Tetris 99 performances ever! In between a win and at least one embarrassing loss, I review the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, we discuss what a Smash Bros. cinematic universe would look like, and share our concerns over the Coronavirus!

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is a fantastic game that’s a billion hours on its own and has DLC to lengthen the experience even more. But what do you play if you’ve done it all within Three Houses and still have the urge for more turn-based strategy action? Try out these other titles on the Nintendo Switch!
The story of two hearts colliding is one that’s explored to great effect in virtually every medium. Except gaming. For numerous reasons, the medium has been slow to create experiences around the themes of love and romance beyond more juvenile dating simulators or bolting on elements of romantic relationships into established genres. As much as I love headshots, juggle combos, and stacking blocks, I’ve always felt like there was a whole world of possibilities that could arise when combining the interactive elements of gaming with the themes of love and romance.
Originally released on mobile in 2018, Florence takes a clever approach to bringing a love story to life within the boundaries of gaming. Though I meant to play it at the time, I didn’t get around to it until it was released on the Nintendo Switch in February 2020. The experience of playing through it has weighed heavily on my heart ever since.
I’m in the process of making a video about a pair of DJ-centric Harmonix games: Fuser and DropMix. Part of that video involves B-roll of me playing the latter.
This was an opportunity to test out a bunch of stuff, from my new weighted base camera rig, to mobile screen capture, to YouTube’s copyright limits. If you’re seeing this post, the video sneaked through! Please don’t snitch!
Anyway, here’s a freestyle mix I whipped up while working on that project. Certainly mot the cleanest run, but it has its moments. If I do come back to DropMix video content, I think it’ll be through rehearsed mixes. Enjoy the beats!
Harmonix’s next game will put players behind the wheels of steel. Fuser will give players access to over 100 songs and the ability to mix-and-match elements of each to create your own mash-ups. The game is set for release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in the fall of 2020.
In the wake of the game’s announcement, we’ve gotten a pretty decent look at how the game will work thanks to preview coverage from gaming outlets. I’m not one of the lucky few whose gotten to play the game, but I have a ton of experience with Harmonix’s card game that provides the foundation that Fuser is built upon: DropMix.
With their boyfriends kidnapped and the whole world seemingly wanting to kill them, Misako and Kyoko have no choice but to punch, kick, and headbutt their way through River City! By the end of this River City Girls live stream, I’m hitting some really stylish combos thanks to the unlocked moves and a lot of practice. Also, we take a moment to talk about my experience at the SickKids Hospital Extra Life 2020 Kick-Off Party!

Are you ready to expand your horizons? Animal Crossing: New Horizons is coming soon! Based on what we saw in the recent Direct presentation, here’s what I’m most excited to experience in this upcoming Nintendo Switch game!
Heralded by many as one of the best games of 2018, I wasn’t quite ready at the time to take on Dead Cells at the time. Spooked by the game’s Roguelike/Roguelite elements, it’s taken me a long time to warm up to the idea of playing a game where the goal was to beat it in one go or lose everything. Games like Into the Breach, 20XX, and Moonlighter have shown me how fun the format can be and how the concept has evolved to be somewhat less punishing.
I have lost count of how many times I’ve died trying to complete the story of Dead Cells. Even so, that hasn’t stopped me from being absolutely addicted to it.
One of Nintendo’s biggest releases on the Switch is coming soon! Animal Crossing: New Horizons is set for release on March 20th and many are can’t contain their excitement. Though I’ll admit that my hype for the franchise was at its peak during the GameCube days, the recent Direct showed me a few things that have piqued my interest.
Upping the difficulty a notch made quite the difference! While I’m able to beat Dead Cells on normal, I struggled mightily to make a dent with the difficulty set at 1 Boss Stem Cell. Between deaths, we discuss the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct, how gatekeeping sucks, and even a bit of GameCube show and tell!
