Mini-Review of Street Fighter II Championship Edition on Capcom Arcade

A few weeks back, Capcom Arcade updated its lineup of games to include Street Fighter II: Championship Edition. If you bought Street Fighter II like I did, you should feel burned, because this makes your purchase obsolete. However, you also should have seen this coming.

Kinect Adventures Review

As Microsoft’s answer to Wii Sports, Kinect Adventures has some big shoes to fill. Whether they admit it or not, Microsoft hopes that Kinect Adventures will be that game that sells you and everyone you know on the peripheral, just like Wii Sports did. Does this pack-in title pack the punch of its Wii rival, or is it just another mini game collection?

Review-Mania at In Third Person

I hope your holidays were filled with great times, great food and great gaming. I had the time to play a ton of stuff during the break, including a bunch of games I received for Christmas. Did Santa hook you up with any gaming stuff this year? I’d love to hear about the games experiences you had during the holidays.

Expect to see a lot of reviews and impressions posts on In Third Person starting tomorrow, when I’ll tackle Kinect Adventures. Till then, here’s to hoping 2011 will be another awesome year for video games!

Let’s Talk About Video Games in 2011

I know the year is just a few days old, but it’s not too early to think about the upcoming games of 2011. I’ve read through a number of different lists of most anticipated games of 2011 and this year is looking like another great year from beginning to end. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Mass Effect 3 and a lot of the Nintendo 3DS stuff, just to name a few things off the top of my head.

Am I Ready for Dead Space 2?

The hype train for Dead Space 2 has been gradually building for the past year or so. While the original game got off to a slow sales start, it eventually sold really well and won a lot of people over. I for one gave the game a shot around this time last year and was very impressed. Almost too impressed in a way. You see, that game was so good at being scary that I couldn’t handle the fear anymore.

My Gaming New Year Resolution For 2011

Do you do the New Year Resolution thing? Is this the day when you tell yourself that you’re going to stop smoking, exercise or address some form of personal fault? The reason that I ask is that I generally shy away from making any New Year Resolutions. I’m of the mindset that if you really wanted to change something about yourself, you wouldn’t need something as arbitrary as a new calendar to make it happen. If you’ve made New Year Resolutions work in the past, then ignore my hate and continue doing what you do.

Out of curiosity, would you happen to have a New Year Resolution for 2011? Maybe one related to gaming? I do.

2010 Year in Review: Favourite Game of the Year vs. Best Game of the Year

I’m at a crossroads. I’ve been here for quite a while. We as gamers were spoiled this year, with zero slowdown in quality output. There was no lull or dry spell in gaming releases this year; we got top-quality products all-year round.

With that said, I’ve been at a crossroads because two games stand head and shoulders above the competition to me. I’ve been flip-flopping back and forth on which one I think deserves the overall game of the year title, but I just can’t do it. This isn’t necessarily a bad problem to have, but if you’re expecting one be-all-end-all game of the year choice from In Third Person, I just can’t do it this year. Instead, I present to you my Favourite Game of 2010 and my choice for Best Game of 2010.

2010 Year in Review: Top 5 In Third Person Posts of the Year

2010 has been a monumental year for In Third Person. To be fair, it’s not hard to have a monumental year when you’ve only been around for two years, but I digress. In 2010, I moved the site from Blogger to WordPress, and In Third Person was featured on the WordPress.com home page. These two moves turned this pet project that nobody visited into a site that draws thousands of visits a month. I’ve worked on a number of different personal social media projects since 2003, and this by far has been the most successful.

Before I say goodbye to 2010, I wanted to wrap up this year by spotlighting the top 5 In Third Person Posts of 2010. Click through to see what were the most popular In Third Person posts of the year.

2010 Year in Review: 5 In Third Person Posts You May Have Missed

As much as I like to think of this of this site as a personal project, I’m super thankful to you, the readers, for discovering and sticking with In Third Person. It’s cool to know that people are finding this site, enjoying the content and leaving some awesome comments. I would continue posting no matter what, but the positive response I’ve received to the site is what motivates me to post every day.

With that said, I’m fairly certain you didn’t get a chance to see everything In Third Person has to offer for one reason or another, which is cool. Whether you want to catch up or not is your call, which is also cool. However, if you’re interested in catching up on some back catalogue content, may I suggest the following posts?

2010 Year in Review: My Favourite iOS Games

Whether you were playing games on an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, iOS gaming was really strong this year. There were a ton of great titles that hit the iTunes store, many of which went on sale at crazy prices. I have bought dozens of iOS games, though I’m embarrassed to admit that I did not put much time into most of them.

If you’re looking for a definitive list of the best iOS games of 2010, I’m sure that sites like Slide to Play and Touch Arcade will do a much better job of that than I ever could. At the very least, I can share with you my list of favourite iOS games of 2010.
