Entering the Pokemon Trading Card Game space is intimidating. It’s a game that’s decades old and wildly popular. As a newcomer, it’s incredibly intimidating to see all of the discussion around massive collections, tournament-level strategies, and the hunt for super-rare cards.

It doesn’t matter how bad the odds actually are, but every time someone opens a pack of Pokemon cards, the dream of landing the big one persists.
Steff and I have opened a few dozen at this point. We’ve landed a few V and VMax cards, along with a weirdly-valuable full-art Pokemon Center Lady card. But landing a big one? We never thought we’d ever be that lucky.

Back to the Future: Back in Time uses the plot of the first movie as the backdrop for this cooperative board game. Playing as Marty, Doc, Jennifer, and Einstein (the dog, not the person), you must work together to fix the DeLorean, ensure that Marty’s parents fall in love, and time travel out of the 50s before forever altering history. Can you get this done before November 12th, 1955 at 10:04pm?
For years, I had built this barrier in my head that made me feel like the Pokemon Trading Card Game was too difficult to get into. Then one day, I decided to push my fears aside and just give it a try. In under an hour, I knew just enough to get started and discovered a new hobby that I can’t stop obsessing over.

One of my favourite non-gaming corners of Twitch to visit is the music section. From musicians showcasing their talents, to producers talking shop about the creative process, to DJ sets that give me something to listen to for extended sessions, there’s a lot of entertainment to be had here.
I also think there’s a lot that we as game streamers can learn from music streamers, even if we don’t have a musical bone in our bodies.
