Capcom Unveils New Street Fighter X Tekken 3 Trailer

Yesterday, Capcom lifted its embargo on the media coverage done for Captivate 2011, which is Capcom’s big press event used to promote its upcoming games. To be honest, I didn’t really care for anything Capcom presented. Sure, Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition news is nice, but nothing at that event got me genuinely excited for Capcom’s lineup. Well, almost nothing.

My Big Question For Mass Effect 3

A few days ago, the latest issue of Game Informer shed light on some new Mass Effect 3 details. While it was good to see any news about the upcoming sequel to one of my favourite 2010 games, none of the information revealed struck me as a surprise. Granted, I haven’t actually read the magazine, just the bits mentioned on web sites, so maybe the answer to my biggest question is there.

If you’d like to know what my big is, read through to the rest of this post. Reader beware though, this contains spoilers!

Super Street Fighter IV Announcement Trailer Leaked

Ninjas have hijacked Capcom’s secrets yet again. Though it should come as no surprise to anyone who knows anything about Street Fighter, an announcement trailer for Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition coming to consoles hit the internet earlier today.

While the original YouTube video has since been pulled, there are other places where you can find the actual video. Or you can click through to see what the trailer revealed!

My Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Team

To say that Marvel vs. Capcom 3 has swallowed me whole would be an understatement. The game is less than 2 months old, and I’ve already spent over 50 hours with it, having played over 1,000 online matches in the process. While there are potentially thousands of different ways to assemble the 38 characters into a three-character team, I found a team that worked for me close after the game’s release and have stuck with it since. In a game where team mechanics are critical, having spent a lot of time practicing one particular team that fits my style has helped me tremendously.

Though I’m still experimenting with new teams every time I play, this is currently my main team.

Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition Review

Despite my recent Marvel vs. Capcom 3 binging, the Street Fighter IV series will always have a special place in my heart (and in my wallet). I still enjoy playing the games, and did not hesitate to purchase this version with my new Nintendo 3DS. As much as I love the iPhone version of Street Fighter IV, it’s still just a sampling of the real deal.

From what I’ve heard of the Nintendo 3DS version, this was a much closer representation of the console experience. But does this game hold up for me as a hardcore Street Fighter IV player?

Early Impressions of God of War II

Even though I was many years late to the party, once I started playing the first God of War, I finished it in relatively short order. That first God of War game was pretty awesome and I was excited to jump into God of War II. However, I thought it would be best for me to take a break from the series and take care of some other games before I jump back into it.

Though I’ve been picking at God of War II for at least a month now, I don’t have much to show for my time. I’m not very far into it, but I’m already considering skipping it for God of War III. What’s happening?

Top 5 In Third Person Posts: March 2011 Edition

March was a pretty big month for gaming. While the biggest news came from the North American release of the Nintendo 3DS, In Third Person talked almost exclusively about Marvel vs. Capcom 3. I’m sorry if the subject matter of my posts of late have been narrow, but I haven’t really been playing much else of late. Damn that game is good.

Based on the numbers, I’m not alone in my interest in Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Many of my Marvel vs. Capcom 3 posts got a lot of traffic, some of which found their way onto this list. If you’re interested in seeing what the readers found hot in March, click through the break!

My Coworkers Get Their First Look at the Nintendo 3DS

Just like a child on show-and-tell day, I packed up my Nintendo 3DS and showed it off to my coworkers as soon as I could. As someone who works in the tech sector, I’m surrounded by like-minded individuals that love checking out the latest in technology. While I wasn’t trying to sell people on the device in particular, I definitely wanted to see their first impressions of glasses-free 3D.

What did they think?

Girlfriend Gaming: Bop It on the iPhone Review

My girlfriend Steff is really good at Bop It. I should further qualify that statement by saying that Steff is not 8 years old. All kidding aside, it was one of her favourite toys growing up and she’s still good at it today. Having used a Bop It in the last few months, I’m lucky if I can score 40, while she can hit 100 in her sleep.

Being the loving boyfriend that I am, I gifted her Bop It on the iPhone shortly after it came out. Did it meet my Bop It champion’s standards?

Pick-Up Post: The Nintendo 3DS

The next generation of hand-held gaming has arrived. I picked up my Nintendo 3DS first thing this morning at my local Wal-Mart, which was rather uneventful. Maybe it was the fact that my brother and I were the first two people to buy Nintendo 3DS consoles at our store at 7am, and maybe it was because we were at Wal-Mart, but there were only a total of four people when the store opened looking to buy one. My brother and I both picked up the blue 3DS as well as our own copies of Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition.

We’ll talk about the game later. For now, let’s focus on the package and the hardware itself.
